NOTES FOR WALKERS
Cerdded a Cebran Provides easy walks of no more the 4-5 miles that fills the gap between very short walks (Walking the way to health) and longer or more challenging walks. Special walking boots or clothing is not essential. No steep gradients, mo obstacles & we try to avoid styles if possible.
Footpath Exploring: For those who wish to reconnoitre new walks or inspect the condition of certain footpaths. Organized in small groups by Footpath Secretary. Please phone beforehand.
Health: It is the responsibility of individuals to ensure that they are physically fit enough to take part in the walks selected. Please remember to carry any medication with you & inform your group leader of any medical problems they should be aware of.
Young adults 8 children: Under 16's must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the walk.
Meeting place & timing: please arrive at the Rookery Car Park at least 10 minutes before the start of each walk
Dogs: We regret that dogs (other than guide dogs) are not allowed on Lampeter Group walks.
Pace & Grade: Usually about 2 miles per hour. Walks are generally graded as hard/strenuous (A), moderate (B), easy (C). Walk leaders will be happy to discuss the terrain & effort where there is uncertainty.
Weather & Alterations: A person will be at the meeting point whatever the weather when in certain conditions the walk may be shortened or cancelled. Details are correct at printing time. Lampeter Ramblers reserve the right to alter this programme should it be necessary.
What to bring: Easy walks require robust footwear otherwise walking boots are essential. Clothing suitable to the prevailing weather conditions e.g. waterproofs. Personal first aid kit. Refreshments &
water.Travel & Cost: The policy of the group is to encourage car sharing thus minimizing numbers of cars used. The usual custom is for passengers to contribute toward motoring & fuel costs.
Membership: All walks are free & open to all. We would appreciate your membership when walking regularly.
Liability: Lampeter Ramblers have endeavoured to ensure the safely of all walkers and cannot be held liable for any injury or loss of, or damage to, personal property. It is the responsibility of walkers to take out accident/personal injury insurance and to be satisfied of personal fitness and be adequately clothed for walking. The walk leaders reserve the right to refuse to take ill equipped walkers.
Footpath Volunteers: Meet fortnightly working with Ceredigion County Council to clear and maintain local rights of ways. New enthusiasts are always very welcome for this rewarding and practical contribution in ensuring accessible footpaths!
