The Welsh Assembly Government considers that the Cambrian Mountains offers further scope
for use by motorised recreational vehicles.
To this end they have through
the Countryside Council for Wales and Ceredigion County Council appointed consultants
to create a methdology which has been used to identify a network of 'sustainable'
routes that can be used by 'recreational motorised vehicles' .
The consultants have
now produced a draft report which is out to consultation. It includes a proposed
network of 'managed routes'. These routes are on tracks on which motorised vehicles
already have vehicle access, on tracks where there is doubt as to vehicular
rights and on current public footpaths and bridleways on which vehicles have no
vehicular rights.
The Draft Report and all associated maps as well as an interactive
map is available at
http://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=9891
Members of the Ramblers Association and others have volunteered to comment on specific
'potential managed routes' within the blocks delineated on the downloadable map at
http://www.ceredigionramblers.org.uk/downloads/surveyblocks.pdf
For these volunteers a Report page has
been designed to make it easy to submit comments. To submit a report volunteers
should
go to the Report page
